Introduction to Mental Health for Non-Mental Health Professionals
The Introduction to Mental Health course is a one-day program designed for non-mental health professionals who wish to gain a foundational understanding of mental health and well-being. This course provides a comprehensive overview of mental health topics, equipping participants with knowledge and practical tools to promote mental health awareness and offer initial support. Through presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises, participants will develop the necessary skills to engage in informed conversations and provide assistance when needed.
Upon completing this one-day course, participants will have a foundational understanding of mental health, enabling them to engage in informed discussions, reduce stigma, and provide initial support to individuals in need. This course promotes mental health awareness and contributes to a more compassionate and informed community.
Mental Wellbeing at Work
This program is designed to provide employees with an understanding of their mental health and how it affects their performance. Through guided tuition in small groups participants will discover how to spot the signs and symptoms of common mental difficulties. Participants will be guided on how to support their mental health needs and will be provided with guidance on how to provide non-judgemental support and reassurance to colleagues. The course will also involve providing employees with the tools to seek professional help.
At the end of the day participants will feel better equipped to:

Ensure their health and safety risk assessments consider not just physical health and risks, but also mental health and risks

Manage and mitigate the risks of harm in the workplace and having ways to support people with mental health issues

Treat mental health in a similar way to physical health - for example, by having as many first aiders for mental health as for physical health.
Mindfulness at Work
Mindfulness at Work is a comprehensive program designed to cultivate mindfulness skills and techniques in the workplace. This course empowers participants to manage stress, enhance focus, and improve overall well-being, ultimately leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction. Through a combination of theory and practical exercises, learners will gain a solid foundation in mindfulness practices that can be seamlessly integrated into their professional lives.

Risk Assessment and Management for Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs)
This course aims to give AMHPs and AMHP trainees increased knowledge and understanding of the key issues related to risk assessments in the context of mental health act assessments. This one day course will enable AMHPs and AMHP trainees to better understand elements of good risk assessment and management. With a focus on the legal expectation to consider risk during mental health act assessment, participants will be guided through the decision making processes and tensions often involved in promoting the rights of patients whilst ensuring public safety.

Race and Mental Health (Day 1)
This course aims to give mental health professionals an opportunity to explore the issues of Race, Ethnicity and Culture as it relates to mental health. Whilst rehearsing the legal expectations and their professional competencies, professionals will work as a group to re-imagine the possibilities for recovery inherent in an anti-discriminatory approach to practise.

Race and Mental Health (Day 2)
This course aims to give Mental Health professionals an opportunity to explore the issues of
Race, Ethnicity and Culture as it relates to mental health service provision. Whilst exploring the notion of Power and considering the changing discourse around Black Lives Matter, participants will reconsider tenants of an emancipatory type practice. Participants will work as a group to re-imagine the possibilities for Recovery inherent in an anti-discriminatory approach to practise by exploring Racism as Trauma and the implications for practice.
At the end of the day participants would have:

Mental Health First Aid
The Mental Health First Aid one day course is designed to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to respond effectively to mental health crises and offer initial support. This one day program is suitable for individuals who want to be better prepared to assist those experiencing mental health challenges. Through a combination of presentations, group activities, and scenarios, participants will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to common mental health issues.
Upon completing this one day course, participants will have the knowledge and practical skills to provide initial support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, promoting early intervention, reducing stigma, and enhancing the overall mental well-being of their communities.
Combating Compassion Fatigue
